How Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland heralded the new year

The world couldn’t wait to bid adieu to 2020 and welcome the year 2021, bringing in new hope and aspirations. Embodying this spirit Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland welcomed the new year with firework and lighting. The iconic buildings of the region came to life with the light show. The inclusion of 40 search lights in the Harbour Bridge lighting was a feast to the eyes.

Bystanders enjoyed the show from several view-points, restaurants and bars. The show was also broadcasted live on TVNZ and covered by other New Zealand based channels and also on international platforms.
